ONLINE MIXING
After a great recording or production, a great mixdown is essential to give your music the punch, clarity, space, and tonal balance it needs to really shine.
I mix in a hybrid studio which offers the precision and workflow of digital production as well as the warmth and real world 'mojo' of analogue equipment.
I offer unlimited revisions (within reason) to ensure that my clients are 100% happy.
EQ - using multiple types of equalizer to tame harsh or muddy frequencies, add weight or detail to sounds and ensure each element has it's own space in the mix.
Compression - from subtle volume leveling and sweetening to agressive bass and drum smashing, Expert use of compression gives your track the punch, weight and dynamics it deserves.
Ambience - reverb and delay are powerful tools to set your elements in their own space. When used as creative effects they can add a whole new dimension to your mix.
Saturation - subtle (and not so subtle) use of distortion can soften transients, add harmonics and bring your instruments to life, whilst helping them stand out in the mix.
Referencing - I will always ask my clients for reference material so I can make sure your mix has the same tonal balance and dynamic range of your favourite artists.
Gain Staging - not the most exciting element of the process but ensuring correct gain in and out of all plugins, hardware and routing paths is essential to bring a mix together.
